COLOURS
Colours – green, red, yellow and blue
Fascinate him, her, me and you.
Make all things around look new;
How beautiful they are, I’ll tell you!
Green, the colour of vast farms and fields,
So are the trees, plants and leaves.
Little green frogs hopping by the pond,
Singing their croaky little song;
Green trees facing the sun yonder the lawns,
Giving clean, fresh air on all morns.
HOW BEAUTIFUL IS GREEN!
Red, the colour of the raging fire;
Indicates heat, anger and ire.
The colour of blood in every body,
As is the cap of little Noddy.
Red, the colour of lava burning,
So are the rays of the bright sun glowing.
HOW DAZZLING IS RED!
Yellow, the colour of the bright warm Sun,
Lighting up everything and everyone!
Golden beaches that stretch a mile,
Bring to one’s lips, a lovely smile!
Yellow, the colour of the autumn leaves,
Falling down from the maple trees.
HOW WONDERFUL IS YELLOW!
Blue, the colour of the seas and skies,
Cool mountains, dew and ice.
A sapphire is deep blue in colour,
It also denotes legal power.
Blue is the colour of calm and cool;
So are blueberries that make us drool!
HOW PLEASING IS BLUE!
Colours also have another face,
Finding presence in other ways.
Black-listed, red-handed and shades of grey,
Phrases as these have come to stay.
From seeing red to feeling blue,
Colours have crept in our language too!
Colours and shades,
Light up our face.
Tinges and hues,
Cause bliss and blues.
Lending different shades to all under the Sun
Colours add zing to everything, save one.
Racism causing huge divide,
Based on colour of skin and hide,
Does not, to the world provide,
Unity, peace, harmony or pride.
Let not colours tear us apart,
May they just bring joy to heart.
